Pertamina Geothermal added investment of U.S. $ 1.7 billion

JAKARTA: PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) are ready to spend about U.S. $ 1.7 billion for geothermal development during the period 2011-2015.

Director of PGE Poernomo said as many as 60% of the funds would be taken from internal funds, while the rest of the soft loans of multilateral and bilateral agencies.

"We're going to Spend U.S. $ 2 billion, more precisely U.S. $ 1.7 billion. A total of 40% or about U.S. $ 700 million loan from the World Bank, JICA, ADB and KWF from Germany, "he said.

According to the Eternal, the geothermal project is also open employment opportunities for the company's EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) to build a production facility steam systems (steam gathering system) and power plants.

"For his workmanship EPC, companies from Japan and Europe many are interested. If Korea has not, probably not the competence in geothermal, so not interested, "he said.

As is known, geothermal resources in Indonesia is the largest in the world.

Indonesia has recorded 40% of the world's geothermal resources. The government is targeting the development of geothermal reach 3500 MW by 2014 and more than 12,300 MW by 2025.

PGE currently manages 15 Concession Area Authorization (CAA/WKP) throughout Indonesia with a total capacity of 1194 MW. (*)
