The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) recorded investment realization in Indonesia amount Rp809.6 trillion during 2019. The realization exceeded the set target of Rp.792 trillion or 102.2% equivalent.
In detail, consisting of Domestic Investment was amount Rp386.5 trillion, or equal to 125.4% of the target of Rp208.3 trillion. Then of Foreign Investment amount IDR423.1 trillion or only equal to 87.5% of the target IDR483.7 trillion.
"The passion of the domestic economy is getting firmer, investors believe the growth and development of the domestic economy is getting better," said BKPM Chief Bahlil Lahadalia in a press conference at his office, Jakarta, Wednesday (01/29/2020).
In terms of foreign direct investment, BKPM noted Singapore to be the country with the largest capital invested in Indonesia out of 97 countries. Then, followed by China and Japan who came in second and third.
There are five main sectors targeted for foreign investment in 2019. The highest is in the electricity, gas and water sector with an investment of USD5.9 billion, then the transportation, warehouse and telecommunications sector of USD4.7 billion.
Then the basic metal industry sector, metal goods, not machinery and equipment amounted to USD 3.5 billion. Furthermore, the housing sector for industrial and housing estates is USD2.8 billion, and the mining sector with an investment value of USD2.2 billion.
