Turkey Investments Geothermal Energy Amount US$ 300 Million in Indonesia

PADANG - Turkish energy firm , Hitay Energy ready to invest US$ 300 million or equivalent
Rp3 trillion, to work on geothermal energy (geothermal) in West Sumatra, Indonesia.

Hitay Energy will be work on the energy potential of 150 mega watts (MW) in Mount Talamau (West Pasaman) and Mount Tandikek (Agam/Padang Pariaman) .

Head of Promotion and Cooperation , Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) West Sumatra , Danang W Teak say that Hitay Energy has agreed to work on existing geothermal potential in West Sumatra .

"There has been cooperation with Hitay , and they 've done a survey location . Possible next year they have started to conduct exploration , " he said on Tuesday (19/11/2013) .

Cooperation agreement between the Government of the Province of West Sumatra Energy Hitay achieved after West Sumatra Governor, Irwan Prayitno met Emin Hitay, owner of Hitay Energy .

By two meetings in Istanbul and Padang, Emin agreed to invest capital to build a renewable energy plant in West Sumatra.

Danang said the potential for renewable energy or geothermal in West Sumatra is very large , reaching 1,680 MW spread over 17 points.

Now, the potential of the new Supreme Energy is managed by a consortium of energy from Indonesia, Japan and France are working on 200 MW in South Solok , and Hitay Energy plans to work on 150 MW .

The other 50 MW, will be given to investors who intend to invest in geothermal business . " There is already another one is interested , Syabas Energy . They planning to come to West Sumatra , " said Danang .

Marzuki Mahdi , Head of Energy and Mineral Resources (EMR/ESDM) West Sumatera said that if both companies are already producing energy , it could be a surplus of West Sumatra about 400 MW of energy .

"It is estimated that in 2016 they were already in production. If as planned , Sumpreme Energy and Energy Hitay already produce energy , plus the power plant and the entire Gulf Betel existing plants in West Sumatra optimal , we can be a surplus of more than 400 MW ," he said. (*)
