Haltim FeNi project is one of the project Master Plan to Accelerate Economic Development and Expansion of Indonesia (MP3EI) for Economic Corridor Papua and Maluku Islands, and is one of the largest current project in eastern Indonesia.
Haltim FeNi project is a project of state-owned mines to increase value added through processing of nickel reserves nickel ore into ferronickel. Haltim FeNi project will have a production capacity of 27,000 tonnes of nickel in ferronickel operation with commissioning expected to commence in late 2014.
Haltim FeNi project will be developed by a subsidiary of Antam, the PT Feni Haltim (FHT) which all shares are directly or indirectly owned by Antam.
Estimated value of FeNi Haltim project is U.S. $ 1.6 billion, including $ 600 million for the construction of power generation capacity of 275MW to be developed by PT PLN (Persero). At the beginning of 2011 Antam has established synergies with PLN include energy supply cooperation for 30 years for operations and infrastructure projects Haltim FeNi.
PLN plans to finance, build and operate a power plant for the Feni Haltim project needs.
To help fund the project FeNi Haltim Antam and other growth projects, Antam has appointed a consortium of financial arrangers, which consists of Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Mandiri Securities, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Ltd, and Standard Chartered Bank. The consortium will support the project FeNi Haltim in obtaining financing with the optimal scheme for amounts up to U.S. $ 1 billion. (*)
