Russia Preparing Funds amount $ 2 Billion For Energy Investment in Indonesia

BANDUNG: Two investors from Russia, Inter ROU UES and the Power Machine, interested in investing in the sector of steam power plants in West Java.

Raam Saraogi, representatives Inter ROU UES and Power Machines, said it was interested in investing a fund of U.S. $ 1,5 billion - U.S. $ 2 billion.

"We are prepared to invest 100%. The business to business cooperation with West Java provincial government," he said (25/05/2011).

Saraogi said two Russian investors were willing to build generation steam power plants in West Java, from upstream to downstream.

He explained that they had met with the management of PT PLN (Persero) in order to explore investments in the energy sector prior expressed strong interest to the West Java provincial government.

However, Saraogi insisted he had not yet received an answer from PLN's management since 3 years with the state's approach.

"Therefore, we are now down to the provincial government directly. Previously we also went to Bali for a similar purpose," he said.

He said it would hold the potential feasibility study of steam power plants in some areas in West Java.

"Obviously we will conduct a feasibility study first at about 6 months a number of areas such as Subang, Karawang, and
Indramayu, "he said.

Vice Governor of West Java, Dede Yusuf responded positively to investor interest in Russia is considering Jabar still require large amounts of energy supply.
