Japan Prepare U.S. $ 1 Billion to Build Two Power Plants in Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC) plans to spend U.S. $ 1 billion to build two power plants in Indonesia.

This was submitted by the Executive Director of JBIC Fumio Hoshi when met at the Indonesia Infrastructure Conference and Exhibition International (IIICE) 2011 in Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Tuesday (04/12/2011).

"In the near future, there will be tenders for coal fired power plants in Central Java and for Geothermal Power Plant Sarula ," said Fumio.

Fumio present, two projects are major projects that were targeted by the JBIC. "This is not a part of the accelerated development program of 10,000 MW power plant," he said.

In addition, JBIC also intervened in funding loan acceleration program generating 10,000 MW of phase I.

JBIC is a bank that specialized in funding between the governments of Japan and the countries in the world by providing financial resources in the form of investment. This bank can be seen to focus its role on developing countries. (*)
