U.S. Export-Import Bank Provides U.S. $ 1 billion for Indonesia Business Performer

Export-Import Bank of the United States declared its commitment to extend credit worth one billion dollars or about 9.2 trillion rupiahs for Indonesian businessmen wishing to import products from America.

"Manufacturing in America provides technology products that can help Indonesia develop its infrastructure are serious, both means of flight, electricity, to agriculture. Trade in both countries will benefit because both the United States and Indonesia will create new jobs, "said Chairman and President of Export-Import Bank of the United States Fred P Höchberg in Jakarta, Friday (18 / 6), during a press conference held at the Office Economy Ministry.

During the year 2009-2010, Export-Import Bank of the United States authorizes approximately one billion U.S. dollars to support the country's export financing in the form of 30 Boeing 737-900ER aircraft engine CFM International.

Entirely used for airline Lion Air. Year 2010, Export-Import Bank of the United States also extend credit to airline Garuda Indonesia.

In the first seven months of 2010, the U.S. Export-Import Bank loans have been authorized to record 15.2 billion U.S. dollars worth. However, it is not only in the form of export credits, but also in the form of guarantees and insurance. That means double the value of the authorization the same period in 2009.

Eleven banks

To channel loans, Export-Import Bank of America works with 11 banks and financial institutions in Indonesia.

The eleven banks and institutions are Indonesian Exports Financing Agency (LPEI/IEFA), Bank Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Bank Central Asia, Bank Danamon, Bank Panin, Bank CIMB-Niaga, Bank OCBC Indonesia, Bank Internasional Indonesia, and Bank UOB Buana.

Höchberg stated that he also has to consider credit to be given to the state electricity company PT export of spare parts in the form of geothermal power plants.

Deputy Coordinator of International Cooperation Ministry for the Economy Rizal Hassanain said, in addition to providing financing support to large companies of Indonesia, Export-Import Bank of the United States also opened up opportunities to small and medium enterprises in the country who intend to obtain financing imports.
