JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Primex Corporation, a processing ore mining company from India, is willing to process iron sand from Indonesia and process them into a variety of materials that much more valuable again, such as uranium, nuclear material. This desire will be reviewed by the Indonesian government delegation led by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during a visit to India in the near future.
Minister of Industry, MS Hidayat said that it is in Jakarta, Thursday (1/20/2011) after attending a coordination meeting led by Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa on Preparation of visits to the Government of India and the World Economic Forum, Davos, Switzerland.
According to Hidayat, Indonesia no longer wish to remove or export of mines in the form of raw materials, including the export of iron sand. Meanwhile, Primex has expressed his desire to process iron sand from Indonesia, which then produced a variety of more valuable materials, both titanium and uranium.
"So from the iron sand will no result in the form of titanium, uranium, and many more. But it must be done through the study first. On that basis, Primex desire for such investments in other countries must be escorted by government," said Hidayat . (*)
