Largest Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant  in the World

Jakarta The Turkey’s company, Karadeniz Holding, the owner of Ship Power Plant or Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant (MVFPP) invested US $ 1 billion in Indonesia. The  investment for set up 5 Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant  to supply electricity in Indonesia. Karadeniz Holding also will be building 20 floating power plan in Indonesia.

"We will invest US $ 1 billion for five different regions in Indonesia," said  Director of Business Development Karadeniz Holding, Zeynep Harezi, in Jakarta, Wednesday (30/03/2016).

The five of of the Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant, one unit has arrived and is operated at the  power plant site Amurang, South Minahasa, North Sulawesi. This ship has been  operating since January 17, 2016.

The Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant  has a capacity of 125 Mega Watt (MW) is used to meet the shortage of  electricity in the area of  North Sulawesi, Central, and Gorontalo (Suluttenggo).



When in operation, the Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant rated fuel economy when compared to  the operation of the Diesel Power Plant. This Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant  is put fuel in the form  of heavy fuel oil. The price of heavy fuel oil 50% more efficient than the price of  diesel oil commonly used in diesel.

"We also use a large engine. The larger machine, feeding will be more efficient," he  said.

In addition, between the vessel to be brought by the Karadeniz Holding,  a manufacturer of Ship Power Plant or Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant from  Turkey, there is one unit aboard the world's largest Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant  will provide  electricity for one of the regions in Indonesia.

The vessel has a length of 300 meters and a width of 50 meters, with capacity 470 Mega  Watt (MW) has entered the category Khan Class, and is planned to be placed and  operated in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia.

"That Marine Vessel Floating Power Plant  in the world untill today, the vessel will be placed in the  field" said Director of Business Development Karadeniz Holding, Zeynep Harezi.

Currently the ship of Khan Class in the manufacturing process at a shipyard in  Turkey. Karpowership, the Turkish energy company is building two vessel with types Khan, Karadeniz Powership Osman Khan and Karadeniz Powership Orhan Ali Khan.

Of the existing design, the vessel type Khan Class size is very large. The size is almost 300% larger than the generator vessel Karadeniz Powership Zeynep Sultan, the  Shark Class category with the  capacity 125 MW already arrived and operated at the  power plant site Amurang, South Minahasa, North Sulawesi since January 17, 2016.

The remaining three other vessel in the category Shark Class with a capacity of  approximately 110 MW.

"The vessel was made in Turkey," he added. The vessels are 1 unit Khan Class and 3 units Shark Class," he said.

Karadeniz Holding explained that it is negotiating the final stages of a contract  with PT PLN (Persero) as the buyer of electricity.

"So far there are head of agreement," he added.

In the same project, Regional Director Asia Karpowership, Ufuk Berk explains, it was no  obstacle in preparing the first of vessel floating power plant to Indonesia. TheGovernment of  Indonesia  and PT PLN (Persero) is very support in the process of delivery and operation.

"In Indonesia, there are no problems. We work well together. Moreover, Indonesia  requires power supplies in a short time to overcome the deficit," said Ufuk.


Build 20 Floating Power Plant in Indonesia

In addition to building a giant generator vessel in Turkey, Karadeniz Holding plans  to support the government of Indonesia and President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to supply  electricity in the islands is still a deficit and has not been electricity.

Karadeniz will build 20 vessels with a capacity of 36.8 MW generator or entered the  category Seal Class. To fulfill this plan, companies from Turkey will hold shipyard  Indonesia

"Fabrication and assembly will be done in Indonesia for 20 vessels Seal Class. We  will be articulated local shipbuilding company," he added.

With this scheme, Karadeniz will also empower local ship's engineer. However, Zeynep  can not to say  the shipyard is being approached to partner.

"We will invest here, to the amount I can not to say. In addition to operating in  Indonesia, can also be operated in other countries," he explained.
