Indonesia Build Nuclear Power Plant 30 Megawatts in 2014


JAKARTA - Government of Indonesia by Minister of Research and Technology--Gusti Muhammad Hatta said that the Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) with a capacity of 30 megawatts (MW) will be built in 2014.

"This year 30 MW nuclear power plant to be built in Serpong, Banten," said Gusti Muhammad Hatta in Jakarta , Friday (07/02/2014) .

Sources of new power plants that will be supply electricity in the local area .

Previously, he said that the government also has a nuclear power plant with a capacity of 30 MW is used for research.

Gusti said the nuclear power plant will be produced by the National Nuclear Energy Agency (NNEA/Batan).

The Minister also said that the performance of Batan has been running well for managing the national nuclear power plant for 30 years.

"One of the reasons it's good management, human resources naturally because Indonesia has been able to manage nuclear."

Although he admits there are still obstacles that the views of people who think it's a terrible nuclear , even though the use of nuclear has been applied in all fields of human life.

Meanwhile, the construction of nuclear power plants in the Pacific Islands, the Minister said that the site is still in the study phase. " The possibility has not been built in this year," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Nuclear Energy Regulatory Agency (NERA/Bapeten)--Jazi Eko Istiyanto said that human resources Indonesia has been able to manage nuclear.
