PLN raised Capital Expenditures to U.S. $ 10 billion

JAKARTA. PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) will increase the fund of Rp 88 trillion, equivalent to U.S. $ 10 billion to finance the expansion until 2015. PLN plans to increase capacity and expand its electric power distribution network.

PLN plans to spend Rp 310 trillion in capital spending over five years. Finance Director PLN Setio Anggoro Dewo say Rp 66 trillion will be spent this year. "The money comes from bond sales, existing credit facilities and internal cash," he said Thursday (3/2).

He said that it is a medium-term plan PLN. The only electricity company in Indonesia is planning to build new power plants that generate 23,525 megawatts of electricity to increase total capacity to 55,484 megawatts by 2019. PLN's plan will increase electricity rates to consumers by 10% in 2012-2013, and 2.7% during 2014-2015.(*)
