The Indonesian government continues to realize its Balongan refinery project. The project is a joint venture Pertamina with KPC [Kuwait Petroleum Corporation] which has yet to materialize. Expected to require investment fund totaling U.S. $ 8 billion-US $ 9 billion, with production capacity of 300 000 barrels per day.
Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) to pursue settlement negotiations refinery plant project in Balongan, West Java and the construction of fertilizer plant in Iran, as government efforts to spur industrial growth and investment.

According to the plan, a memorandum of understanding will be signed in Kuwait on August 19th.
The urea plant project in Iran which was initially targeted at breaking ground in early 2010 is not yet terealisasasi. This project is the result of cooperation with PT Pusri NPCI Petrochemical Industries Ltd. and Investment Company (PIIC) that form a joint venture company Hangeem Petrochemical Company (HPC).
This plant has a designed capacity of 1 million tons of urea and 120,000 tons of ammonia per year with an investment of about U.S. $ 450 million.
BKPM aggressiveness is in line with government targets in the five years ahead of target for Rp1.500 trillion attract investment, both foreign direct investment (FDI) and domestic investment (PMDN).
"So when we got six projects that scale just like Krakatau Steel-Posco project, we had 6% growth. We also seek to continue to attract investment in supplier-supplier in the upstream and downstream sectors of post-entry of Posco, "said Gita.
On the other hand, Minister of Industry, MS Hidayat expect the issue of gas supply to secure the industrial sector in 2011, following the central government's efforts to negotiate with the producers of gas.
"Next year I saw was concrete, now Pak Hatta [Coordinating Minister Hatta Rajasa] to negotiate with sources of gas in Singapore. New one that can be allocated namely East Kalimantan Fertilizer [CCP].
