Jakarta - PT Pertamina EP will supply gas around 114.7 trillion british thermal units to the refinery processing of liquefied natural gas (Natural Gas Liquification / NGL) in South Sumatra, owned by PT Pertamina Gas. Estimated contract value for the 13-year disbursement reached U.S. $ 401.7 million U.S. dollars.
"In the 13 years contract period, the daily delivery of the feed gas from Pertamina EP is in the range of 250 MMSCFD in 2013 and amounted to 80 MMSCFD in 2025," said President Director of Pertamina EP, Salis S Aprilian in a press release, Monday (31 /5/2010).
This commitment cements our position as Pertamina EP, the largest gas supplier to domestic needs. The signing of this agreement is also a strong support of BP Migas to meet the needs of domestic gas.
EP Pertamina gas production is the biggest pillar of Pertamina's total gas production as a whole. Meanwhile, Pertamina is currently the largest gas producers to domestic needs.
Pertamina's gas supply to consumers consisted of 34% supplied to the National Gas Company (PGN), 20% to meet the needs of industry, 18% for the fertilizer industry, 25% for electricity generation, and 3% other for Pertamina's refinery needs.
For information, Pertagas and E1 Corp. plans to build a liquefied natural gas processing refinery with a capacity of 250 million cubic feet per day in South Sumatra. Refinery worth U.S. $ 192 million is targeted to start operations in
2012.
In the project, and E1 Pertagas Corp. formed a joint venture company named Pertagas E1. Ownership of shares of companies signing the deal done in 2007 in Seoul it was 56:34, whereas the remaining 10% owned by local companies in South Sumatra province.
The plan was for gas supply comes from refineries NGL Pertamina EP Region Sumatera while NGL production from the refinery that will be sold to PT Pertamina (Persero).
