Indonesia should ratify the Rome Statute of International Criminal Court (ICC). In the Rome Statute of the mandates for the establishment of the International Criminal Court (ICC / International Criminal Court).

Ratification was considered very important, to complement and enhance the quality of the national law provides protection for human rights in Indonesia. In addition,
  1. Eliminate the practice of impunity
  2. Overcoming the weakness of the national legal system
  3. Provide protection to witnesses and victims.

Ratified the Rome Statute will offer benefits such as:
  1. Rights preference is active in the International Criminal Court,
  2. The opportunity to become part of the organ of the International Criminal Court,
  3. Accelerating the process of legal reform in Indonesia,
  4. The effectiveness of the national legal system,
  5. Increased efforts to protect human rights,
  6. Establishment of diplomatic positions.
It provides the consequences of ratification of national law. It is expected that some adjustments will be made after the ratification of the Rome Statute. Amendments to some laws in Indonesia is a consequence of the ratification of the Rome Statute, including: the Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code law of human rights, justice and human rights law.(*)
