Indonesia's Court System

There are four branches of the judicature in Indonesia:
1. General Courts: The courts try all criminal and civil cases.
2. Religious Courts: The courts try all cases in which both parties are Muslims and the dispute concern defined areas of law, such as marriage, inheritance and trusts.
3. Administrative Courts: These courts hear disputes between Indonesian citizens and the government over alleged infrigement of the law or misuse of power by a state organ.
4. Military Courts: These court hear criminal cases where the accused is a member of the armed forces.
5. Constitution Courts: These court hear political dispute and constitution cases.

The level of courts:
1. District Courts: First level for the parties to find the justice.
2. High Court: A party dissatisfied with the decision of district court's judge, can appeal to high courts.
3. Supreme Court: The highest of court in Indonesia.
