JAKARTA, The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Bank Indonesia Governor Burhanuddin Abdullah suspect in a graft case involving members of the House of Representatives.
Burhanuddin and Law Director Oey Hoeng Tiong and former chief of communication bureau Rusli Simanjuntak were suspects in using the central bank's money to bribe the law makers to smoothen the revision of a Law on Finance in 2004, KPK spokesman Johan Budi said.
The three suspects, however, remain free. Normally KPK puts suspects under detention to facilitate further investigations.
KPK also have not named any suspects among the law makers allegedly to have received the Rp31.5 billion bribery money
Deputy chairman of the House Honorary Body Gayus Lumbuan said he appreciated the move by KPK and said KPK should not hesitate in bringing to the open the case involving the legislators.(ANTARA)
